My mother grew up on an olive farm in Vicenza Italy picking herbs and making recipes from the land. Today we live in the Mediterranean climate of Ojai, CA on 40 acres of wild chaparral and native plants - with an olive grove, a citrus grove, a lavender farm and vineyard.
First ingredients are foraged from the property, the blossoms are separated and 2 petal infusions are made, one in local olive oil and the other in filtered water from our mountain. The oils, infusions and essential oils are combined at low temperature and poured into molds. Later the loaves are cut into bars and stored for drying and finally labeling - a total process of 2 months.
Our foraged ingredients include: Matilija poppy, rosemary, mint, rose, jasmine, wisteria, citrus blossom, olives, lavender, Yerba Buena, wild sage, bayleaf, dandelion and more. This list is evolving as we discover and test more plants on the property.
The pure oils we use in our soap making process include: local Ojai olive oil, organic virgin coconut oil, organic sunflower oil, castor oil, sweet almond oil, hemp oil, avocado oil.
Other ingredients may include organic shea butter, raw organic local honey, gluten free organic oats, kombucha, organic cacao butter and organic green tea.
We also use only pure, organic, therapeutic grade essential oils such as: lavender, lemongrass, peppermint, rose absolute, bergamot, rose geranium, clary sage, frankincense and tea tree oil.
